I think he told her about it because he was feeling bad and guilty he did not tell her sooner because he thought they should suffer but now he know what he should of said sooner .Yes I do think she is the right person she gives punishment but she's also loving
ReplyDeleteI think because sometimes is noddy and does not follow his instructions.I think AUNT POLLY cannot raise him like a good child because he always thinks tom is the bad one all the time. But mostly its his brother Sid who mostly does get in trouble.

ReplyDeleteHe told the lies so he would make his auntie not feel bad and make her think he missed her deeply. He did but he pushed it to the max is what I think. His aunt Polly is the right person to raise him because she disciplines him for everything wrong he does.

ReplyDeleteI think he tells lies one so he won't get in trouble but he will get in more trouble once she finds out it was a lie. Two because I think he thinks it will make Aunt Polly more proud of him instead of being mad at him. I think Aunt Polly is the right person to raise Tom because she gives him punishments for what he deserves but also still loves him.

ReplyDeleteI think Tom lied for revenge. I think that Aunt Polly is the right person to raise Tom, since she doesn't just let him get away with anything, she actually punishes him when he's done wrong. But some times I think Aunt Polly goes a little to far when she punishes Tom.

I think Tom lied because he didn't want everyone to no there secret. HE also probably new that Aunt Polly would tell everyone.

ReplyDeleteI think he was sad that his aunt thought he was a bad boy so thats why he lied.No because she is to old to chase him around and yell at him and try to make him stop.Another reason is that Tom knows she can't stop him from doing what ever he wants because he is stronger and faster than her.

ReplyDeleteI think tom was sad that aunt poly did not believe that he wrote the note and kept it in his pocket and aunt poly after tom left she went up stairs and went in the the closet and fond the note and read it and started crying.
ReplyDeleteI think in chapter 19 that Tom tells lies to not get himself in trouble but in the end I think that Aunt Polly is the right person to raise him because she was so happy when she found the note that Tom wrote to her on wood in her old jacket pocket.

ReplyDeleteI don't think it was ok to lie to his aunt because its not ok to lie, and every time someone lies they have to make more lies just to keep that lie seem true, then eventually you can't stop. I think Aunt Polly is a good guardian for Tom because he just does not want to listen, but her heart is in the right place. You can tell she cares about Tom because she never wants to hurt him, he just makes it hard to be liked by adults.

ReplyDeleteI think Tom lied because he wanted revenge, and he didn't want Aunt Polly to be even more mad at him. She was already mad about the funeral incident, so he didn't want her to be even angrier. I think Aunt Polly raises Tom pretty well. She requires him to go to school and to do the right things instead of bad things. Int he book it shows that she really cares about Tom and she should if she is his guardian.

ReplyDeleteTom tells Aunt Polly that he did come back to the house when joe harpers mother was there and that he kissed aunt Polly and then was going to leave a piece of bark saying that he was just pirating but then he decided not to. and then Aunt Polly didn't believe him so she went and checked his jacket and he was telling the truth.

I think that Aunt Polly is for sure a good person to raise Tom, since she doesn't just let him get into trouble, she punishes him when he does something bad,even though he might rebel out of that too.Also I think his lies do hurt Aunt Polly but she has gotten used to it.

ReplyDeleteI think Tom lied because he didn't want to let his secret go to waste and he knew that he would get in a lot of trouble. Aunt polly is a good person to raise Tom because sooner or later Tom will get why she is so strict and why she disciplines him when he is immature. She also cares for Tom. Example: She punished Tom for skipping school by having him whitewash the fence. Example: She was devistated when she found out Tom (DIED). She even yelled at Sid for something he had said about Tom.

And i do think that she is the right one to raise him because like when he gets in trouble she always yell at him and makes sure he nows what he did was wrong.

ReplyDeleteI think Tom lied and hurt his aunt's feeling because he wanted more attention and so he wouldn't get in trouble for listening to there conversation at his house while he was under the couch. I think Aunt Polly is the right person to take care of Tom because she is caring and gets on Tom's case when he needs it. For example when Tom was eating the jam in the closet for a punishment she made him white wash the fence. And when Tom ran away she admitted that Tom was a confort to her.

ReplyDeleteYes, I think Aunt Polly is the right person to raise Tom, Aunt Polly might hit Tom and yell at him, but its because she cares about him and doesn't want getting in trouble. In chapter 15, page 83 the third whole paragraph on that page Aunt Polly even said that "he was the best-hearted boy that ever was."
I think that he always gets switched with Mr.Dobbins at school and does not want to get switched at home either and that when he does not to he all ways does it any ways because when he herd that Aunt Polly did not want him to brake her heart he just thinks that he does not want to do that so when he does go and do something that he wants to do he lyes so he does not brake Aunt Polly's heart. But I think that Aunt Polly is the right person to raise Tom because well she does dissiplin him so that he will become a better adult and when he gets in to truble she does not want to hert him but he does to teach him a lesson so when he has kids he can teach them the right things and not the roung things and well that is why I think that Aunt Polly is the right person to raise Tom Sawyer
ReplyDeleteYes. I think that Aunt Polly is the right person to raise Tom. even though she punishes him she still cares about him a lot. One of the punishments that Aunt Polly was that she made him white wash the fence. I think Tom doesn't like lying to aunt Polly but he thinks that it is best if he doesn't tell her till later like when he arrived at the funeral when it was going on.

I think that Aunt Polly is that way because she doesn't want Tom to be a bad person. I think that Aunt Polly is the right person to raise Tom because she only wants whats best for him.
ReplyDeleteI think that he lied so he didn't hurt her as bad. He probably thought that if he told her the truth he would get a worse punishment and get smacked.
ReplyDeleteI also think that Aunt Polly would be the right person to raise Tom if she would be less harsh on Tom and more harsh on Sid instead of blaming Tom for everything.
I think that tom lied so he doesn't hurt her that much and if he told the truth he will get spanked to death I think and I think she is the right person to raise him because she disciplines him for all the wrong things he did and she knows all of his tricks and I know because he tried to sneak out and she was right under him and spanked him and he went right back up.
